Simon Says Stamp Challenge: White on White Inspiration Photo

Hello all! Welcome to another Simon Says Stamp challenge!! Today’s challenge is based on Joy’s inspiration photo, a gorgeous white/white collage of photos! Stunning. I rarely do white on white. I tend to always have to have some kind of color in there… This was a stretch for me… But, I gave a whirl and am pleased with the outcome. I kept the card sentiment free so this can be used for any occasion.  The design team is working with Cuttlebug products! I love my cuttlebug. It is my only die cutting machine (except for the Silhouette) and I am very pleased with it….. I also love their embossing folders, and used the Argyle one on this card.

I partially dry embossed the card stock panel and made a card stock bow, because I don’t have the cool dies, to go on this project. (Thanks to Jennifer’s directions on one of the Clean and Simple 2 Online Card classes lessons). I decided I just had to add some glitter, so I used the Ranger Rock Candy dry stickles.

Lawnscaping Challenge: Valentine’s Day Inspiration Photo sponsored by Simon Says Stamp

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend!!!!! This week’s Lawnscaping challenge is sure to get you in the Valentines Day mood! Whether you celebrate it or not, who cares! Time for candy! Chocolate! Whatever floats your boat. When I was younger, I would celebrate it by dressing all in black! But you bet your bootie I ate chocolate! :) Here’s what I created inspired by the photo!!!

I love that hexagon mask from Studio Calico. It is gorgeous! So I thought I’d try my hand at masking, a technique I don’t do often! I die cut the circle from this Spellbinders Nestabilities set and used the negative space to create the mask. I then dabbed some gorgeous Bubblegum Pink Hero Arts shadow ink over the top of the mask and look at the outcome! My goodness. So pretty!

Everything else is pretty self explanatory. I colored the images and banner strip with copics. A little bit of glossy accents on the cherries and the little hand drawn heart and all done!

I hope you will stop over at the Lawnscaping blog and check out what the rest of the design team created for this challenge! And also please welcome our guest designer for the month, Lalo!!!

A big thank you to the wonderful Simon Says Stamp for sponsoring our challenge this week! The winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to the online store!!!

Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Black and White with a SPLASH of color

Happy hump day!!!! I hope everyone’s week is lovely! We have had some fun this week. We have been house hunting for what seems like forever and have looked at probably 75 homes. We found one that we love, but will need a tiny bit of work done to expand one of the extra bedrooms (that will be Lily’s room). It was too wonderful of a house to pass up because of that so we’ve got some plans to expand that room out a bit…. The interesting thing is we close at the first week of March and I am due towards the end of March! So either some wonderful angels are going to pack/move/set up the house while I am out of commission or we are just going to have to wait until I get home with Lily and recover…. Important thing is having a safe delivery and the birth of a wonderful little girl that we have so long been waiting for. I think Lucas is just as excited as me!!! Thank you JESUS for blessing us with this new chapter in our life.

Sorry to ramble. Back to the challenge! It’s time for another Simon Says Stamp challenge and this one is super fun (but I say that every time don’t I). Black and White with a splash of color! YUM! The design team did some wonderful work this week so be sure to check them out!!! We are working with CC Design products and I chose this adorable little girl with the umbrella. Seriously, how cute is she!

DSC_0060wtmk

She was colored with Inktense watercolor pencils. I find I am reaching for those way more than the Copics… I cut out the hair and umbrella for another stamp image so she could have some dimension…. She is popped up on dimension, as is the card panel. Added some stickles to her pocket! And of course as always, I added some enamel to her eyes… How cute is she… Seriously. Adorable…. I stamped the inside with this Simon Says Exclusive set. I LOVE the handwritten font and the adorable hearts….

Lawnscaping COLOR CHALLENGE: Sweet Yummy Christmas

DSC_0004wtmk

I love love love love LOVE this color challenge peeps! Absolutely adore it and one of my favorite color combos to use!!! That’s right! This week’s Lawnscaping challenge is all about color!!!! I had so much fun creating this card but before I get to the deets, please let me thank our amazing sponsor, Simon Says Stamp!!! They have generously agreed to sponsor our challenge this week with a $25 gift certificate to their store!!!! Perfect Christmas shopping money if you ask me!!!!!!

This card is pretty fun and fairly easy to mass produce! I love using distress inks and trying out new techniques. I used this techniques once before and love the results. I simply masked off two areas and used my Tumbled Glass distress ink and applied a pretty heavy coat of it using a blending tool, then readjusted the same and used the same technique, only with a softer touch. WOULD YOU GUYS LIKE TO SEE A VIDEO ON THIS?  I will gladly make one today if someone requests it…

Loving the gingerbread people from this set.   I stamped them onto kraft, and colored one of them in with Copics and left the other alone. Added some liquid applique for the frosting and some Liquid Pearls for the buttons and popped those cuties up with some dimension…

Lawnscaping Challenge: TAGS sponsored by Lawn Fawn

Happy Monday everyone and welcome to another Lawnscaping Challenge. Today is a sad Monday for me and my family. We made the very difficult decision to find our Cooper (our little yorkie mix) and a new home. It has been in the works for quite a while but now that reality has set in, I find it incredibly difficult to stomach. My heart aches for him. He was a very good dog, we just had concerns about how he would be with a baby. I know it is isn’t fair, as the baby isn’t here yet and it isn’t fair to cast him out based on what could have been and that is what I have been struggling with. Yesterday afternoon was a very tough day for us filled with lots and lots of tears carried over into this morning. I have spoken with the new owners and they completely understand if we have changed our minds. I have asked for a few days so I can think with a clear mind. It is hard doing things when your brain tells you one thing and your heart tells you another. All I know is I am being incredibly selfish right now and I miss him so very much!!!

I’m sorry! You guys are hear for the challenge! Let’s get back to it! TAGS! Figured it was a perfectly timed challenge since I am definitely going to need tags for Christmas.. I went the more traditional and obvious route and created a few clean and simple tags for Christmas, while other design team members went more creative and created tags attached to gifts (our guest designer Lalo’s is quite awesome) and members like Tamara and Shien Shien incorporated their tags into their gorgeous layouts…. Be sure to head on over to the blog and check them out. Here’s a peak at what I created:

And a close up of each:

I love making Christmas tags and I have a lot of fun Christmas themed stamp sets to create more tags with. I made a few already here.

I hope you will play along with us. You have until NEXT WEDNESDAY, 11/28 to play along!!! :) Can’t wait to see what you create! And a big huge thank you to Lawn Fawn for sponsoring our challenge today. The winner will receive a free stamp set of your choice!!!

Lawnscaping Challenge: Dust ‘Em Off sponsored by Simon Says Stamp

Hi everyone! Happy Monday! Did you all survive the time change yesterday? I woke up at 4AM, so really it was 3AM. I was a zombie during the day. Luckily, the entire household felt my pain because we all took naps in the afternoon :) Today’s challenge is all about Dusting ‘Em off. We all have things that we have in our craft room that get neglected. Stamps, inks, glitters, twines…… Now is the time to pull those suckers out and get crafty! I chose to work with a holiday Lawn Fawn set and get a jump start on my Christmas cards. Kept them clean and simple for two reasons. Easy to mass produce and requires no extra postage (yes, I’m cheap)…..

Let’s look at them individually… I water colored the images on these cards and added some black enamel to the eyes… Bit of washi and some faux stitching and done….

And in this card, I colored the image with Copics and again added black enamel to the eyes…

We are sponsored by the fabulous Simon Says Stamp for this challenge! The lucky winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to their online store…..

Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Autumn Leaves

Happy Wednesday! Today, I am heading out to a corn maze with my son’s first grade class! Wish me luck! :) It’s also another Simons Says Stamp challenge!! WOO HOO! LOVE THESE CHALLENGES! The Design Team is using Autumn Leaves products this week, a new stamp company I have been introduced to. I decided to go with a Thanksgiving theme and created a Turkey Name Tag, he he he!

This is the turkey shape I used for the  Silhouette and the  flowers on the name plate are from the Autumn Leaves Simply Divine stamp set.

The stamped flowers and leaves were colored in with Prisma Colored Pencils.

Lawnscaping Challenge: COLOR SPLASH sponsored by Simon Says Stamp

Hello everyone! My heart is heavy today  and I had to say goodbye to my husband for a while… He is my best friend and wonderful father and at the moment, I just feel empty inside…  I am so very proud of him and absolutely honored to be his wife…. He is my better half and without him, I am just not whole….

Today’s Lawnscaping challenge is all about a splash of color!!! Basically, keeping a neutral palette and then adding a splash of color! SO fun. A BIG HUGE BEAR HUG THANKS to Lawn Fawn for sponsoring our challenge with a free stamp set of the winners choice111

And here is my take on the challenge:

I colored the kites with distress inks and did the water flicking ink with a darker color distress inks! I then put a thick layer of stickles over the top! Love the shine! Minimal bulkage so perfect for mailing!!! I hope you like it and I hope you will play along with us over at Lawnscaping! Be sure to head on over and check out the wonderful inspiration from the design team and our two guest designers!

Hi everyone! Happy Monday!!! It’s a new Lawnscaping Challenge!!!!! And I think you will love this challenge! It’s all about coloring!!!! Do you have copics, tombow markers, gelatos, paints? Heck, you can even tear into your kids stash and pull out their crayons or markers!!!!!!  :) We are sponsored by the FABULOUS SIMON SAYS STAMP!

Simon Says Stamp

I decided to create two cards for this challenge using two different sources of color – Twinkling H2o’s and Distress Inks! I even made a HOW TO VIDEO!!!! Now the video is longer than what I normally do, and I do some talking (gasp) in it so bear with me, lol!!!  ALL the supplies used are linked at the end of this post! Here are the two cards I created! The first is the card created water coloring with distress inks!

Of course, you know me and my distress inks! They are my absolute favorite – a must have in my book!  I LOVE water coloring with distress inks! It is so fun and freeing!  This is by far my favorite technique using distress inks!!!!

And now the other card I made using the super fun Twinkling H2o’s!!!

I had so much fun coloring with the Twinkling H2o’s. They are brand new to me and I am in LOVE!!! They are so fun and easy to paint with, and you really can’t make any errors when painting when them. Lots of creative liberties!  Check out my HOW TO VIDEO below. You can watch it right here on the blog or head over to my youtube channel and watch it in HD!

I hope that you will play along with us at the Lawnscaping Challenge for our COLORING challenge!!!!! It will be so fun!!!!

Bee Happy: Lawn Fawn and Coloring

Hi there! Today I’ve got a card for you using Lawn Fawn!!! I was inspired by the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge, whose challenge was to create a project inspired by a song! EVERY TIME I see the bee in the Gnome Sweet Gnome set and the sentiment that goes with it, I think of the song “Don’t Worry Be Happy By Bobby McFerrin” – LA LA LA LA! Now I am singing it in my head non stop. Check out that link on youtube…. You’ll just be happy after you listen to it and you will catch yourself singing in the rest of the day!

The gnome was colored with these FABULOUS Korean markers my good friend Deasy sent me! Don’t you just love that texture and color? The rest of the images were colored with Copics! The grassy hills? That’s Lawn Fawn’s new paper line, Bright Side!!!!!! :) I used a lot of foam dimension on this card!! Love the dimension and the shadows it creates…. A finishing touch was some faux stitching along the edges using a white gel pen.

I hope you like it! I sure did have fun making it.
