Hello and welcome to another Lawnscaping challenge! Today’s challenge is right up my ally. Clean and simple…. :) I love clean and simple projects…… We are sponsored by the fabulous Lawn Fawn and have TWO incredible guest designers joining us so be sure to head to the Lawnscaping page and check out ALL of the projects…..

I colored all the images with the exception of the two dark pink birds with Copics. The dark pink birds were colored with these new glitter pens I picked up. Love them and they come in all kinds of colors! The adorable patterned paper came in one of the Simon Says Stamp card kits….

I popped most up of the images up with some foam dimension…. :) I had a blast making this card and coloring all of these adorable images!!! I love the matching dies. Made things a heck of a lot easier for me, that’s for sure.

I hope you will play along with us! :)

Happy Birthday using exclusive Simon Says Stamp

DSC_0002wtmk

I was feeling a bit stressed out the other morning, Lily was sleeping so I went upstairs to my still unpacked craft room and made this card using some new Simon Says Stamp exclusive dies/stamps to unwind…. It helped!!  I paired the adorable images from the set with Copics and Hero Arts Shadow inks and love how it turned out. I didn’t have matching rhinestones so I took some clear ones and colored them with Copics to match! The bee is colored with a cool new glitter pen I picked up…. The panel is popped up on dimension…

Happy Mothers Day using Simon Says Stamp May Card Kit

Hello everyone! I made my mom a Mother’s Day card using the contents from the May Card kit over at Simon Says Stamp. Do you get these kits? They are amazing and have everything you need and then some to create many fabulous projects. Also included in the kit is a sample sheet of cards made by other designers! I was drawn to the card Sarah made so I made something for my mom inspired by her card.

DSC_0008wtmk

Everything you see in this card was included in the kit. There is so much more in the kit from embellishments to liquid pearls to tons of patterned paper and card stock…… I love these kits. You can subscribe to them monthly for a discounted price or you can just buy then month by month…. If getting the kit isn’t your thing, you can buy the stamp set that is included in the kit on it’s on as well….

I hope my mom likes her card…… I have the best mom in the world. She is truly my best friend…. I can talk to her about anything and I can’t imagine living far away from her. I have been very lucky to be able to reside in Jacksonville throughout all of our new military orders, which is almost unheard of. God really looks out for us in that regard… We are a close knit family, that is for sure… Growing up, we would go to my grandparents house every Sunday for lunch. My grandmother was the best cook!! I have no idea how she kept everything hot…. She would wake up early and cook and by the time we got there, everything was hot and ready to go…. I miss both of my grandparents dearly…  I wish they could have met my children. Since I had the best grandparents, it is only fitting that my kids have the best grandparents and they do!!!

To all the moms out there, Happy Mother’s Day! I hope you are able to kick your feet up and relax!

Lawnscaping Challenge: BLING IT sponsored by Simon Says Stamp

Hello HELLO HELLO! I am so happy to be back with my Lawnscaping gals. It’s been about 3 months or so I think……. :) I dusted off my crafty supplies and tried to find some mojo!! We are sponsored by the fabulous Simon Says Stamp! The winner of this challenge will receive a $25 gift card to their online store:)

Here is what I created inspired by the challenge:

DSC_0014wtmk

I masked the circle and applied the distress ink pad directly to the card stock. I sprayed the stars stamp with Perfect Pearls and stamped onto the distress ink panel. I colored the ice cream images with copics and popped them up with some dimension. I wanted to add some more bling so I dug out some glossy accents, rhinestones and liquid pearls…

I hope that you will play along with us!!!! This is such a fun challenge and I can’t wait to visit your blogs and be inspired!!!

Lawnscaping Challenge: Stamp a scene sponsored by Lawn Fawn

Happy Monday!!! Today we’ve got a fun Lawnscaping Challenge in store for you! Stamping a scene! I love to create scenes with stamps. It is so fun and freeing and you can be as simple or as complex as you want!!!!!!! Here is what I made using lots and lots of different Lawn Fawn sets!

DSC_0009wtmk

I dabbled with the masking technique again! I took the Chevron border and created what I hope you will see as a tree! I stamped it in two different shades of greens by Hero Arts…. I hand drew in the branches and added some heart die cuts I had lying on my desk…. (save all your scraps peeps, you never know)…. The gnome and log? Yup, I colored those like 8 months ago and I keep all my extras in a pottery mug on my desk.. So this card came together very quickly.

Lawnscaping Challenge: Valentine’s Day Inspiration Photo sponsored by Simon Says Stamp

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend!!!!! This week’s Lawnscaping challenge is sure to get you in the Valentines Day mood! Whether you celebrate it or not, who cares! Time for candy! Chocolate! Whatever floats your boat. When I was younger, I would celebrate it by dressing all in black! But you bet your bootie I ate chocolate! :) Here’s what I created inspired by the photo!!!

DSC_0011wtmk

I love that hexagon mask from Studio Calico. It is gorgeous! So I thought I’d try my hand at masking, a technique I don’t do often! I die cut the circle from this Spellbinders Nestabilities set and used the negative space to create the mask. I then dabbed some gorgeous Bubblegum Pink Hero Arts shadow ink over the top of the mask and look at the outcome! My goodness. So pretty!

DSC_0015wtmk

Everything else is pretty self explanatory. I colored the images and banner strip with copics. A little bit of glossy accents on the cherries and the little hand drawn heart and all done!

I hope you will stop over at the Lawnscaping blog and check out what the rest of the design team created for this challenge! And also please welcome our guest designer for the month, Lalo!!!

A big thank you to the wonderful Simon Says Stamp for sponsoring our challenge this week! The winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to the online store!!!

Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Snowflakes PLUS VIDEO

DSC_0004wtmk

Welcome Welcome to another Simon Says Stamp challenge! Today’s challenge is all about SNOWFLAKES! The Design team is using GLITTER RITZ products this week! I love Glitter Ritz glitter. It is microfine glitter that is just perfect. Once you burnish it (rub over it with your finger or bone folder or something like that), the glitter stays PUT! I don’t know about you, but I hate getting glitter all over my hands and clothes!!! Here is a close up of the card under light, which hopefully reflects some of the sparkle from the glitter! But in real life, those penguins are amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Instead of telling you how I made this card, how about I show you in this video!!!

Lawnscaping COLOR CHALLENGE: Sweet Yummy Christmas

DSC_0004wtmk

I love love love love LOVE this color challenge peeps! Absolutely adore it and one of my favorite color combos to use!!! That’s right! This week’s Lawnscaping challenge is all about color!!!! I had so much fun creating this card but before I get to the deets, please let me thank our amazing sponsor, Simon Says Stamp!!! They have generously agreed to sponsor our challenge this week with a $25 gift certificate to their store!!!! Perfect Christmas shopping money if you ask me!!!!!!

This card is pretty fun and fairly easy to mass produce! I love using distress inks and trying out new techniques. I used this techniques once before and love the results. I simply masked off two areas and used my Tumbled Glass distress ink and applied a pretty heavy coat of it using a blending tool, then readjusted the same and used the same technique, only with a softer touch. WOULD YOU GUYS LIKE TO SEE A VIDEO ON THIS?  I will gladly make one today if someone requests it…

Loving the gingerbread people from this set.   I stamped them onto kraft, and colored one of them in with Copics and left the other alone. Added some liquid applique for the frosting and some Liquid Pearls for the buttons and popped those cuties up with some dimension…

Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Dawny’s Sketch

Happy Wednesday and happy first day off of school for the Thanksgiving break if you are in the USA! We spent last night traveling to Atlanta to stay at my brother’s place while they are off to London…. It’s nice to just get away from the normalcy of things are try to put things in perspective. I am still mourning the loss of our dog Cooper! I still feel we made a terrible mistake by finding him a new home on Sunday, but at least I have one chance to rectify the situation. The couple has given me until Sunday to decide. So I am praying for a peaceful heart and clarity to do what is right by Cooper.

Today’s challenge is a fun challenge inspired by a sketch! The Design Team is  showcasing Stamps Happen products this week and I have to say, I am loving what I made, which usually NEVER EVER happens! Let’s check it out!

How cute is this stamp called George’s Present? HE HE! The dog is either shocked he got a present or got caught for stealing one from under the tree, he he! I put some liquid applique on the hat and some stickles on the present for some added texture.

The wonderfully amazing and sweet Heidi is offering up a $50 gift certificate to the Simon Says Stamp online store!!!!!! HELLO!!!!!! That’s awesome!!! I’ve got a wish list a MILE long (always)…..

Lawnscaping Challenge: TAGS sponsored by Lawn Fawn

Happy Monday everyone and welcome to another Lawnscaping Challenge. Today is a sad Monday for me and my family. We made the very difficult decision to find our Cooper (our little yorkie mix) and a new home. It has been in the works for quite a while but now that reality has set in, I find it incredibly difficult to stomach. My heart aches for him. He was a very good dog, we just had concerns about how he would be with a baby. I know it is isn’t fair, as the baby isn’t here yet and it isn’t fair to cast him out based on what could have been and that is what I have been struggling with. Yesterday afternoon was a very tough day for us filled with lots and lots of tears carried over into this morning. I have spoken with the new owners and they completely understand if we have changed our minds. I have asked for a few days so I can think with a clear mind. It is hard doing things when your brain tells you one thing and your heart tells you another. All I know is I am being incredibly selfish right now and I miss him so very much!!!

I’m sorry! You guys are hear for the challenge! Let’s get back to it! TAGS! Figured it was a perfectly timed challenge since I am definitely going to need tags for Christmas.. I went the more traditional and obvious route and created a few clean and simple tags for Christmas, while other design team members went more creative and created tags attached to gifts (our guest designer Lalo’s is quite awesome) and members like Tamara and Shien Shien incorporated their tags into their gorgeous layouts…. Be sure to head on over to the blog and check them out. Here’s a peak at what I created:

And a close up of each:

I love making Christmas tags and I have a lot of fun Christmas themed stamp sets to create more tags with. I made a few already here.

I hope you will play along with us. You have until NEXT WEDNESDAY, 11/28 to play along!!! :) Can’t wait to see what you create! And a big huge thank you to Lawn Fawn for sponsoring our challenge today. The winner will receive a free stamp set of your choice!!!
