JUGS TAKE TWO!

So, I submitted my project for this week’s JUGS Challege, and just really didn’t like it. Especially after seeing all the fabulous submissions!! Geez, have I got A LOT to learn!!!!!!! Made me get off my rump and try and make another card. Still isn’t nearly as good as a lot of the folks that partcipated, but at least I got the 3d FLOWER dimensional down this time!!! I used my ever faithful Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge as inspiration for layout.

I wet some cute DP and it created a beautiful little flower! I also crinkled the red paper in the background which I think really gave the card a nice affect!! I used a circle punch to create the border on the bottom. And this cute stamp??? It is Lisa Johnson’s On My Couch stamp set sold by Papertrey Ink! The stamp set is fabulous! Chairs, artwork, throw pillows, rugs, tables, coffee cups, a cute little black cat… The stamp less has ENDLESS possibilities. I have done some other cards with this stamp set so if you want to check them out, click here! Please click each picture if you want to take a closer look!

Pumpkin Party

Today, we spent the entire day with great friends! They hosted a pumpkin carving party at their house! Such fun! We brought the cupcakes so I made some tags using the PTI Halloween Tags set. My son helped make orange icing….. Had to pick out some pumpkins at the pumpkin patch up the road. Nothing like waiting until the last minute.

Hoot! Hoot!

The Just US Girls (AKA, JUGS, HA HA HA)  had their weekly challenge this week and this week’s challenge was 3d dimensionals. AAAHHH. I have never tried doing them before. I am a newbie and tend to stick to the basics. BUT, I thought I would give it a whirl this week.  I got assistance with my dimensionals from Lauren’s tutorial. THANK YOU LAUREN!!!  I gained my color inspiration from SPCC’s color challenge this week.  Even though my color choices aren’t spot on, I always turn to SPCC for inspiration with colors because 9/10, they put together color schemes I would have never though of doing!  I have been wanting to try out this owl DP I got from Joanne’s for a LONG time! Aren’t the owls cute?!?  For my project, I used Lauren’s (sidebar) Cash and Carry template #1! Click here to see another version of her template! Please click on each picture to enlarge for a better look!

I hope you like it! We are going to a pumpkin carving party later this afternoon and I volunteered to make cupcakes. I am going to be using PTI’s Halloween Tags set for my cupcakes. Hope they turn out ok…… Have a great Sunday!!!

Rasberry Suite Color/Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge Combo

Today, I participated in TWO challenges. Dawn’s Rasberry Suite Color Challenge and the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge! Those are two of my favorite challenges to participate in! I used the Papertrey Ink Stocking stamps, decorative paper and ink, some glitter and my scor-pal and came up with this card that I will be sending to my niece for Christmas…. I hope that you like it. Click on each picture to enlarge for better viewing!!!

On another note, for those of you have been following me on Twitter, I have been tweeting about the china cabinet project. (NOTE: Anything oil based is AWFUL and you can NOT paint latex over oil)!!!   Well, you will all be happy to know it is ALMOST done. I have everything done but the two front doors for the bottom piece. The good news? I have got the hutch ready and all the china has been put away and I have my dining room table back. No more crafting on the floor or eating on the sofa! WOO HOO!!! Now, I will be eating my candlelight to avoid seeing all the MANY imprefections, but hey, at least it is just about done…..

Cream Cheese Bars Recipe – YUM!!!!

So, my friend Lisa gave me this recipe and it sounded so yummy, I went to the store right then to get the ingredients… They are amazing! So, I had to share the recipe.  Enjoy!!

Cream Cheese Bars

1 tsp. Vanilla

1 cup Sugar

2 (8oz) Cream Cheese

2 (8 servings) Crescent Rolls

½ cup melted Butter

¾ cup Sugar

1 tsp. Cinnamon

Cream the first three ingredients and set aside.  In a 9×13 pan layer first can of crescent rolls on bottom pinching the seams together so that the entire bottom in covered.  Spread the cream cheese mixture on top of crescent rolls.

Layer remaining can of crescent roll son top of the cream cheese, again spreading the crescent rolls and pinching the seams so that the cream cheese mixture can’t be seen.

Mix together remaining sugar and cinnamon and then sprinkle over crescent rolls.  Drizzle melted butter over sugar mixture.  Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.

ENJOY!!!

Gift Card Holder Card!

Today, I participated in a few challenges for inspiration. I was thrilled to find a new challenge blog to follow, Just Us Girls. This week, they have a color challenge that I loved. Red, Cream and Aqua. What awesome colors!!!! During the last Papertrey Ink release party, I couldn’t help but purchase Lauren Meader’s Cash and Carry timeless template. Oh my gosh. They are fab! I printed all THREE template styles (only $5 ladies!!) and chose Cash and Carry #3 for this particular challenge.  I also heat embossed the gift card insert, which happened to be the challenge for SPCC Finally Friday! Woo hoo! A double challenge! Click each picture to enlarge… Let me know what you think. It makes my day to get comments!

Going Dotty

I have had a very tough week. Terrible actually. But hanging in there. I participated in the Passion for Paprertrey’s challenge not only because I love their blog, but  because this chalenge featured dots! I just love polka dots! Using Papertrey Ink’s stamp sets and Martha Stewart’s glitter, I was able to create this holiday card. Glitter is messy! That is ALL I have to say on that subject! :)

Boo! Cards Patterns Sketch

Hello! My china cabinet restoration is still under way!!!! Nightmare!!! Stress!!! AAAAHHHH!!!!!  So, I plopped down on the floor and created this quick little card inspired by the Card Patterns weekly sketch challenge! The cute little ghost has glitter on it, I promise! After taking about 20 photos trying to show it off, I gave up! Please click on each picture to enlarge!

Don’t you just LOVE Christmas stockings?!?

I absolutely LOVE stockings!! Those and snowmen are the things I adore during the holidays!  What are your favorite things?

I needed some inspiration so I turned to the ever faithful Mojo Monday for my sketch inspiration and SPCC for my color inspiration! See the adorable red vase (Pottery Barn) behind my card?
