Translucent Butterfly and Faber Castell Gelatos

Good morning peeps! I hope you are having a good week and happy hump day!!!! 🙂 Today’s card is a little different from what I normally create! I saw this post over on Karen Baker’s blog a while back and knew I HAD to try making a transparent butterfly!!!! Her post gives step by step instructions on how to do it so be sure to check it out if you are interested! I liked making this card so much that I am going to make another one with a less busy background and I’ll be sure to make a little video to go along with it….

The background was made with the Hero Arts Woodgrain Design block and 3 different shades of Faber Castell Gelatos. I love those things… They are so fun to work with!!!! I’ll make a video using these babies on another card if you all would be interested!

The butterfly was stamed in versamark onto clear card stock and heat set using black embossing powder! The shine of that beauty is really something spectacular in person.

 Thanks for stopping by!

Side note, are you a scrapbooker? The Lawnscaping Challenge Blog is having a Design Team call so be sure to head on over there and check out the deets!!!!

  2. Waaaay cool Laurel!!! Great job!!!! I love the background especially!! I just got my 1st set of Gelatos and have been browsing Farber Castle’s blog – because I dont know much about them – but wow, they seem to be SO versatile – and I always love what you do with them!!!
