Operation Julie’s Smile Blog Hop

Welcome to the Operation Julie’s Smile Blog Hop! And quite the hop indeed. There are 121 of us participating in this hop! You should have come to me by way of the FABULOUS AMY TSURUTA!  If not, no worries. Head on back to the Sweet Stamp Shop’s blog for a complete list of participants and sponsors…

We have come together to help one of our own, Julie Ranae.   Some of you may know that a few weeks ago, Julie Ranae had to have emergency oral surgery resulting in the removal of her two front teeth.  The dentist at that time believed the best course of action would be to remove the rest of her teeth and replace them with permanents to avoid years of dental work. Relieved at finding a solution to this major dental problem, she visited the office for dental surgery that week.  After the consultation and scheduling the surgery, the surgeon’s office informed her that she would need to bring $4000 back to the appointment with her and they would proceed.  This amount would not include the dentures to follow.  Here Julie is today, sitting without front teeth that were pulled with the belief that they would be replaced immediately. It is an overwhelming experience and one that I hope our creative community can help with. If you would like to make a donation, (no donation is to small), please click on the button below.

We have over $2500 in prizes donated by the very generous companies.  A complete list of sponsors is listed on the Sweet Stamp Shop Blog.  Prizes will be drawn from the blog comments left, paypal donation list and blog hop hosts. With a blog hop this large, there could be a break somewhere in the chain, so please bear with us and head on back to the  Sweet Stamp Shop Blog if you encounter any problems! You have all weekend to hop!!!! Comments close on Sunday at 11:59 EST!!!!

Here is the card I created for Julie….

I created the flower by cutting small cuts in a paper strip and then added a button with floss.   The background is embossed and then I brushed over some Picket Fence Distress Stains to give it that washed look.  Kept it very simple.  Thanks for hopping by. Be sure to leave a comment so you can have a chance at winning! Next up on the hop is the fab Kimberly Crawford!!!!

  1. Love this flower you created and the background is very fun. I need to get that distress stain!!

  2. What a pretty card and a great thing to do for a colleague. May she have plenty of reasons to smile knowing how much she is regarded.
