Lanterns using Faber Castell Gelatos PLUS video by Lucas

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I’m sharing with you a card I made a few weeks back using Faber Castell Gelatos! I love them! I have such fun with them! I am not an artist by any means, but I feel artsy when I pull out these babies! If you don’t own any, get on it! They are fun and anyone can use them, including my 6 year old. I am sharing the technique video he made when he tried them out for the first time (who knew he played such close attention to me when I made videos, lol – and yes, he is just the cutest thing EVER and I am SO blessed God blessed us with him)…..

You can use gelatos with water or you can smear them around with your finger. I used both techniques on this card. The background was made with gelatos and water and the lanterns were colored using gelatos and my finger! 🙂 I made a couple of other videos using gelatos. You can see a few here and here.

  1. Oh that was so great! My two favorite quotes are: “It’s gotta be blue” and “Wow! That really does work!” lol oh thank you so much for sharing that, it’s made my day.

  2. Your son is so cute! May God Bless him always. He reminded me so much of my nephew who I miss soooooo much! He’s in NJ and I’m in Puerto Rico 😦 Anyway, great job!!! Hope to see more tutorials from him! 🙂

  3. Ooooh. The lanterns actually look like they are glowing. I haven’t heard of Faber Castell Gelatos before but, you better believe I will be Googling them now!

  4. I love how you use the gelatos. The images are so beautiful! I’ve checked 3 local craft stores and no one carries them funny enough. I have found them online but there are several different color sets to choose from. Any suggestions on what would be a good starter set? Thanks ~Sophia

  5. This coloring is beautiful! I can’t seem to get the hang of the gelatos, but you are amazing with them! And Lucas is such a cutie! Great video! 🙂

  6. This is amazing!!! You always inspire me when you play with the Gelatos! I’ve purchased a few of them from Simon Says Stamp – just because of you!!! I haven’t used them yet though 😦 – must get on that! And Mr. Lucas… adorable!

  7. So precious! Laurel, this is a treasure! I love that he is interested in something mommy likes to do and he is so natural in front of a camera too! Thanks a million for touching my heart!
