Just a hello

Not a crafty post today, gasp!!!! Just wanted to pop in and say hello!!!!

If you will remember, or maybe you don’t, I struggled and struggled with fertility for years……. SEVERAL months ago, I shared this announcement/miracle with you!

Today, I am 33 weeks along. She is looking great and I feel her rocking and rolling all the time!  As you can imagine, I am monitored very closely by two different sets of doctors.  Every is going ok so far, but I always knew my third trimester would be the riskiest….. I have a couple of warnings they are watching me carefully for so all your prayer warriors out there, I would love it if you would add us to the list!!

God blessed us with one miracle 7 years ago and now he has blessed us with another one due in March. Miracles. I never thought much about them until it happened to me. I had no troubles getting pregnant with my son. Come to find out, I shouldn’t have been able to as easily as I did. Miracle One. Years of miscarriage/loss and finally the good Lord blessed me with a viable pregnancy. Miracle 2. The fact that she is a GIRL, Miracle 3 (NO girls run on my husband’s side of the family, NONE)……

It is hard, but we must TRY and remember to be thankful and grateful for the things we DO have and not worry or complain so much about the things we don’t have or wish we could have. That is a VERY hard thing to do. Trust me, I know.

I am also struggling with turning to the Lord for ALL THINGS, not just when I want/need something. Do you do that? Find that you only pray when you have something to ask for? I am incredibly guilty of that. But I’m working on it.

Thanks for popping in today and sharing this journey with me.

  1. A beautiful testimony. Thanks for sharing both your wonderful joy and struggles with us! As we enter the season of Lent this Wed I am again reminded of how important it is to trust in God for ALL things. My prayers are with you and your family during this exciting and important time.

  2. Touched by your post. I think we all struggle with the things you mentioned. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Wishing you all the best!

  3. What a lovely post, Laurel!
    Thanks for sharing your story!!
Totally know what you mean when you say that we have to be grateful for what we have and not complain about the things we don’t have!!
But it’s so difficult sometimes!! :/
I hope you’re doing great! It’s good that they follow you closely!!
Thinking of you…I’ll light a candle!!
    hugs
    Lenny 😉

  4. Will surely keep you in my prayers, Laurel. Thanks for sharing! Your thoughts about being happy with what we do have instead of what we don’t are something that will be important to teach your children also!

  5. I wouldn’t want to be God. Not only would I have to run the universe, but I’d also have to listen to people cursing me and complaining that I’m not doing what they think I should do for them. Yet He puts up with our petty complaints and limited vision, all the while giving us far more than we deserve or even realize. What a great God we have!

  6. What a sweet post! I’m glad you’re feeling well…I’m adding you to my prayer list right now ~ (HUGS) to you!!!

  7. You got it! I will lift you up in prayer for sure! GOD will take care of you. And you are right, we MUST be thankful to Him in good times and in bad. He rewards us immensely when we wear a grateful heart. One thing that helps me stay positive and happy is each day finding at lease ONE thing to thank Him for, and let me tell you, once you thank Him for that one thing, you start to realize you can find even another one and so on… Continue thinking positively, not only because our minds are powerful enough to make anything happen, but because it also rubs off on other people. Have a blessed day!

  8. Hi Laurel,

As I told you before I have been in your shoes. I have had 13 miscarriages-but I have a wonderful 18 year old son that is proof miracles occur everyday. I spent my fourth month up to his 35th week in bed on my left side. Weeks 32-35 were in the hospital with eclampsia. The doctor cried when he was born, because he thought he was going to lose both of us. My son had some medical challenges in his first few years-but now he is in a Big Ten college on a scholarship and a year younger than his classmates and doing well. It all happened because God is an awesome God!!!!! I appreciate him ever so much more because I went through so much to have him, as you will with your beautiful daughter.

I asked God to use me today. I am so glad it was you he was sending me to. You have been in my prayers your entire pregnancy and you and your precious family will continue to be there through the years. Take heart God hears you and loves you. I anxiously await the day I can see pics of you holding your precious daughter:) Big Hugs to all of you!!!!

  9. Laurel – Thanks for sharing these thoughts with us – and yes I am guilty of asking God for things just when I want them – and not necessarily material things. I am praying that the rest of your pregnancy is happy and healthy. May God bless you and your family!!
