Live the life you imagine: Tutorial

Hi there! Today I’m here with a tutorial on how I made this card using some wonderful products by Crafters Companion.

The background was created with a NEW embossing folder called Distressed Spatter and distress inks.… Sheenah has just released 8 new 5×7 embossing folders that are just gorgeous! Be sure to check them out. They will be available on the website after 1PM today…. You can also keep updated on the release on their facebook page.  The butterfly from THIS set was also created using distress inks.

To start, I embossed the distressed spatter embossing folder using my die cutting machine. Ignore the fact that it is Kraft colored. I changed my mind and ended up going with white but forgot to photograph it, lol!

Next I took the Mowed Lawn and Vintage Photo distress inks and inked up the stamp with both colors.

I made sure the stamp was completely covered with ink before I squirted the stamped image with water….. Distress Inks are formulated to react to water so this makes these inks very unique.

I stamped the image onto some ultra smooth premium white card stock and love love love the outcome!

Next I used an ink blending tool and my weathered wood distress ink and inked up the embossed background adding some extra ink around the edges…. I love how the ink really makes those embossed images pop!

For a finishing touch, I flicked some water onto the embossed background using my fingers..

And I absolutely love the result:

And now it’s time to assemble the card. I used some foam dimension to pop up the butterfly:

And stamped the sentiment from THIS set using weathered wood distress ink and voila:
