CAS Distressed Heart

DSC_0001 copy

Well, it doesn’t get much easier than this card now does it? LOL! The heart was a leftover from a previous project so all I had to do was quickly create the base layer by flicking some of my favorite color distress ink onto the card stock and scattering a few enamel dots…. Then I adhered the heart with double sided tape and voila, done. Oh, the text on the heart? It’s from this Hero Arts set, which I absolutely ADORE! Quick and easy, and pretty cute if I do so say myself! LOL!

Happy Saturday folks! Tomorrow, we leave for a beach condo with my in laws for a few days… I really don’t enjoy the beach BUT I am looking forward to going for two reasons. One, I will see my inlaws and two, this will be Lily’s first time on the beach ever! Yes, I live on the east coast where the beach is just a 15 minute drive, but no, I don’t venture there often. Growing up there, I got my fair share of it, so I’m good you know? And I don’t particularly like the clean up either, ha ha ha!

Have an awesome day and thanks for stopping by today!

You are the Cream in my Coffee – 5 minute card

DSC_0010 copy 2

Sometimes, there are just not enough hours in the day….. THIS set by Hero Arts cracks me up! I love it! It is so fun and there is lots you can do with it.  Today I want to share a 5 minute card.  Yup, that’s right! 5 minutes from start to finish! I had a minimal amount of time to create this because my daughter wanted my full attention…

I took THIS adorable mini bubble stencil by Memory Box and paired it with some vintage photo distress ink. After inking it up, I added a layer of Wendy Vecchi translucent embossing paste over the top for that bit of shine! So cool. While that was drying, I stamped the square panel and sentiment panel with matching distress inks. The square panel, I spritzed with water before stamping. I mounted on the panels and voila, done…. Yes, it takes more than 5 minutes for the translucent embossing paste to dry… Usually I let it sit for 20-30 minutes but for this card, both panels were mounted with foam dimension so I could go ahead and get that squared away and then set aside until dry, hence 5 minutes!

Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Fathers Day/Masculine

DSC_0002

WOO HOO! And welcome to our Wednesday Challenge!! 🙂  I love this challenge because I have NO excuse not to have a card for my Dad! This one just cracks me up. The sentiment. HAHHAHAHAHAHAHA! It’s from this awesome stamp set.  I kept the colors neutrals and thought adding a glitter frame around the banner die panel was a great finishing touch.

See the misted background? Created with this baby! And the silver inked background? Inked with this. Sparkly and shiny with no embossing needed.
