Peace, Love, Joy and embossing paste with Ellen Huston Essentials

DSC_0029

Hello everyone! And Happy day after World CardMaking day to you all! I spent the entire day in bed with  a terrible head cold/sinus infection! I am drugged up at the moment so perfect time to blog my next card using the Essentials by Ellen line… Did you see my post yesterday featuring 6 cards from the line? Today I am back with project #7. When I got this release, I just couldn’t put it down! It is all so fantastic! Today’s card uses the Brushstroke Christmas set. I love the big, bold sentiments and the stars and dot splatters on the set! SO much fun.  See the gold dots? Thats the dots! I stamped them in versamark and heat set them with some Enchanted Gold embossing powder!  The sentiment was heat embossed with Liquid Platinum embossing powder, my favorite embossing powder because it seems to go with everything!

Then I applied some embossing paste to this stencil and let it dry.  As a finishing step, I went over the entire panel with some worn lipstick and pumice stone distress inks and voila… All done… Loving all the texture and shine….

If you wish to see videos on ANY of the Essential by Ellen projects I have made, please let me know which ones in the comments… So far, I have two posts featuring these products!!!

Mama Elephant and Me Challenge: Anything Goes

It’s a big month over at Mama Elephant! They are turning 2 years old! Lots of celebrating will go on this month so be sure to follow them if you don’t already! Today it’s all about the Mama Elephant and Me October Challenge. Wow! October! Since there is so much partying going on over there this month, we decided ANYTHING GOES would be the perfect theme! So bring it! I got inky for this challenge and have to say I love the results….. Isn’t that city scape gorgeous? Hello Central Park…. I so want to go back to NYC! Badly.. I like to visit, not live there because I’m too lazy to walk everywhere, but I sure love visiting……. The background was inked up with distress inks and then I went over the stencil with water. Just plain ole’ H2O.

The die was cut several times…… Inked up with the same distress inks and then I put a coating of glossy accents over the top. Look at the cityscape against the background. How cool is that. Is this something you would like to see a video tutorial on? Let me know in the comments…

Embossing Paste Skyline

DSC_0001

Hi there! Have a quick and easy card to share with you today! It is no secret I love stencils so I paired this stencil up with some Wendy Vecchi embossing paste! After letting it dry (about 30 minutes), I colored it in with some Spectrum Noir Blendable pencils and flicked on some white ink and voila.. Bright, colorful and the dimension from the paste is unexpected!!!  I mounted it on a hot pink card base! Love that bright shot of color when the recipient opens the card.

By now everyone’s kids are back to school! Mine started a few weeks ago while some of my other friend’s kids started this week! How is it? My son loves school and he loves his teacher, so that makes it very easy on this Mom. I miss him to pieces during the day though!!!

Happy Wednesday to you all!

Christmas in August with Lawn Fawn

DSC_0008

So yes, I was in the Christmas spirit today so I took some time out of the day for myself and created this for the Pretty Pink Posh Cutting edge blog hop. This card actually took me a long time to make believe it or not, lol! But I had fun. First I stamped the images from several different Lawn Fawn stamps and colored them! Some images were then die cut while the rest were fussy cut! See the stitched panel background? That is from this Lawn Fawn set that will be available for purchase on the 28th of this month, just 3 more days! This release is amazing! I  die cut the Christmas tree from this set. I did some creative masking and decided to add some stripes to the background using this stencil from Simon Says Stamp.  I added some liquid applique to the gingerbread peeps.  And of course, I would so totally love to have that color fireplace in my house!

Shaker card meets Winnie and Walter

DSC_0016

Hi there! Today I’ve got my second ever shaker card ready to roll! I didn’t film the process this time, lol! I’ve paired the shaker with some Winnie and Walter stamps, Pretty Pink Posh dies, WPlus9 inks and cardstock and some fun sequins I just found in my stash! See the vertical lines on the card base? I made that using my score-board. All supplies are linked below to multiple sources. I am in the process of getting a hosted blog so the supply list will look a lot more cleaner soon…. I love this Winnie and Walter stamp set…  I use the same set to make this vibrant chalkboard style card.  Today, I used it to make this one. See how universal this set is?  It made for some fun images inside the window. The snail is on the bottom left, but the poor little bugger got covered up with sequins, lol!
